Water
Aurelia obtains its water supply from the Dakota Sandstone Aquifer. This aquifer supplies Aurelia with an abundant amount of good quality water; very low in iron and total hardness is 16 to 18 grains.
The Dakota Aquifer has a low susceptibility to contamination due to its' depth and type of overlaying materials.
Wastewater
The wastewater treatment facility was completed and put into service in 2001. This is a controlled discharge three cell waste stabilization system.
Currently this facility is operating at approximately 50% of capacity.
The water and wastewater treatment facilities have the capacity to supply our needs for residential, commercial, and industrial expansion well into the future.
